Visionary Tattoo Expo

On one of these recent weekends i visited the Visionary Tattoo Expo down in Miami at the Double Tree near the Miami International Airport. Very cool display of tattoo work, pin up girls, and art work on display; ntm the live contests and music going on to spice things up a little more. It was also nice to see the whole section of MSG and other booths with friends such as 004 Connec. Here are a few of the shots, for more you can check my flickr.

BeachFront News Boat Show Cover

Earlier in the morning befoer i shot with carla, I did my usuall task of doing the cover shoot with the boys, shots came out pretty good and we shot on a nice $5 million yacht. it was blazing out tho, thought it was gonna kill the pictures, but luckily it was alright. We got our friend Katy to shoot the cover with us, shes actually a bartender at Gryphon-Pangea Nightclub at Seminole Hard Rock . Here's a little teaser, for more you can check my flickr or pick up a copy of the BeachFront News!

Carla shoot

The week after i had done these past shoots, i had a chance to meet up with a buddy from high school, my friend carla and just do a quick shoot before sundown. she has a great dancers body and was really easy to work with.

Evdi Sound

The day after I shot Dan and Hayley, i had a shoot with a buddy that is a up and coming reggaeton artist from Puerto Rico. He was looking to do some shots to put something together to be able to send out for the record labels he has been talking to since coming to the U.S., we were looking to do something relating to family and show a good spirited person. we had a blast doing this shoot, probably some of the best fun ive had yet. Here are some of the shots from the shoot with Evdi, for more go to my flickr.

Soon to be Dan and Hayley Smith...

In one of these last few weekends I did some engagement shots for one of my best buds ive known since kindergarden, him and his lovely fiance are high school sweethearts. It was honestly a perfect day outside to take these photos and was my first time really doing a couple shoot. Here are a few shots, For more just check the flickr.

Fade to the Past:Old Miami Active Penit

So recently I was tipped to finding one of the old penits still somewhat in existence i had been looking for since i started documenting miami graff. It was nice to make it there and in with no problem, but was sad to see the place rusting and rotting away, most likely under demolition as well since the main building half seemed missing and was an empty lot. just a small piece of wall remained from that part. The rest left we searched through to even find that the bums had left for the time being and the most had eroded away just leaving most of the metal to rust, wood to rot, and the graffiti to fade away. This seems to me as a symbol of the graffiti culture here in Miami as all of the penits are demolished, fade away, or become occupied/ guarded by people uninterested in the art. Its interesting to see what the future holds for this penit and the rest of the graffiti art here in Miami. My guess is that we will just move on to the next place...

RIP Patrick Swayze

Hip grinding with young rich girls at summer country club dinners, turning molding clay pottery into the hottest foreplay, and being that undersized bouncer in some midwest bar with a blind singer and the old man with the best wildwild west deep narrator voice at your side... You made me believe, thank you.

MTV VMA's

Well this year's VMA's will go down as being famous for sure thanks to some hilarious and rude moments. It seems that Janet Jackson's tribute to her brother was over shadowed by the act of the night, with Kanye West once again coming up on stage and making a fool of himself and Lady Gaga's weird/wild styled outfits. Of course however there were some amazing performances from Beyonce, Muse, Taylor Swift, Pink, Green Day and Jay Z as well. Also previews that had every girl texting and calling each other screaming OMG! TOTALLY! for the new moon preview. Was right though to end with the MJ preview and take back the thunder some people were trying to steal. Til the movie awards! Kanye for President! haha jk

Future Classic Festival @ SOHO Studios

Ok, so this saturday was the Future Classic Festival at SOHO Studios in the Wynwood Art District area of Miami or as most of us know it as Overtown aka the hood. Got word of this event from my friend Sammy on friday and decided to give it the green light and go. N.E.R.D. being the headliner of the festival made it that much easier to go, which didnt really work out in the end, more on that issue later. So me ans my buddy Frank (Fal Photography) walked up to the entrance and i just said " hey, we're media" holding my camera in my hand. the bouncer looked at me and just waved me in to the next guy, told him i was media and well wouldnt you know... there i am standing inside smiling, thinking that was way to easy. I feel its worth it to them tho anyway because technically I am media anyway, working for beachfront news and doing my own private work i think classifies me as ok. So we did our thing walking around checking out the art, dancers, graffiti, and performers at the venue. For the most part everything was a good time and we had access to anywhere we wanted to go. I even made money while being here at this event because some guy decided to "make it rain" while i was standig atop the vert ramp. I slid down face first hungry for that cash! made an extra $20 right there and later found drink tickets which i sold. So yeah, i made money for having a good timeand doing something i love to do. The disappointment of the night though came when we were waiting for N.E.R.D. to come on stage and the security or whoever's decision it was kicked all media out from in front of the stage and told the videographers no video. GARBAGE! it was a shame for that, but hey what you gonna do. I left immediately after this went down, plus whoever was working the soundboard must be deaf because the speakers were blasting the whole night wayyyy too loud on the inside main stage. Like i said though, it was a great night and i had a blast for free.. well making money ha. Here are some of the shots from the festival and for all the shots you can check my flickr @ www.flickr.com/photos/therealmiamivice
